Marian Bjantes

While doing research for a typography project, I found the design work of Marian Bjantes. She is known for beautiful, artistic typography and for her valentines, which she makes by hand and gives away by the hundreds each year.
She wrote and designed the amazing book I Wonder, which beautifully explores type and pattern in street signs, paintings of saints, macaroni and everything else that she feels like using. It is also filled with her writings about design, life and her memories.

The fabric that Marian Bjantes designed.
One of the Valentines. She created them from old Christmas cards so every one was different.
I just thought this one was really beautiful!

More Valentines designs. For this one, she drew the different sections by hand
and then put the pieces together in illustrator to form each heart. They are
all similar but each is unique.

I Wonder– written and designed by Marian Bjantes. Just fabulous!

She has worked closely with Saks Fifth Avenue on a number of design projects.
